Okorocha, Amosun Suspended By APC:
Rochas Okorocha and his counterpart, Ogun state Governor have been suspended by the All Progressive Congress.
The two (2) men who were suspended for alleged anti-party activities at the National Working Committee meeting held on Friday in Abuja. The party took the decision at the NWC meeting in Abuja on Friday.
Though the committee recommended the governors expulsion from the party.
Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Uguru Usani and the Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Okechukwu Osita were among those suspended.
Okorocha who contested for the Imo West Senatorial District seat while Amosun contested that of Ogun Central in the just-concluded elections.
Although both governors won the poll in their states and the returning officer in Imo State declared Okorocha the winner “under duress”.
Rochas Okorocha is supporting Uche Nwosu, his son-in-law and candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) in Imo, to succeed him as governor, as against the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma.
On the other hand, Amosun is against the candidature of Abiodun Dapo of APC in Ogun and is giving his support to Akinlade Adekunle, the candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
President Buhari, before he won the election had during his campaign visited Imo and Ogun States where some drama played out over the choice of candidates.
During the campaign, some supporters loyal to APM pelted the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, while he was addressing the crowd, forcing him to end his speech abruptly.
Following the incident, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had mocked the party, that was more reason Amosun was suspended by APC.
