Atiku Won At Polling Unit:
The presidential candidate for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),
Atiku Abubakar has defeated eight (8) polling Unit 007 Pyakasa, Lugbe Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
As reported by the News Agency of Nigeria, Abdulrazak, the presiding officer for the unit, said Abubakar got 1,205 votes while President Muhammadu Buhari, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 173 votes. Abdulrazak who also announced that the Senatorial candidate for PDP scored 913 votes while APC scored 444 votes. The PDP candidate for House of Representatives, defeated with 1,102 votes while APC candidate scored a total of 240 votes.
However, it was observed that the counting and sorting of votes at polling unit 007 Pyakasa lasted till 4.30 am on Sunday, February 24. The SDP agent Haruna Dauda while reacting as Atiku won at polling unit 007, expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the process, saying that everything was transparent. Shawula Joshua, the PDP agent, also noted that INEC staff were fair and the election at the unit was free and fair. Meanwhile, President Buhari reportedly beat the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar at his polling unit, scoring 186 votes to defeat Atiku.
Hence, Atiku supporters claimed Atiku put up a remarkable showing despite losing to President Buhari, adding that Buhari has always won in the polling unit in nearly all previous elections.
