Bomb Explosions Shook Maiduguri:
Just a few hours to the polls, Nigerians woke up with multiple blasts from bomb explosions suspected to be from the Boko Haram sect shook Maiduguri, Borno State. The blast took place at about 6 am this morning.
Though is not yet certain from which direction they occurred, but the affected residents claimed it could be another attack by Boko Haram insurgents.
However, a police operative, returning home from night duty briefed Premium times that they counted eleven (11) of the Bomb explosions which shook Maduiguri this morning, yet not clear where they occurred.
There were unconfirmed reports, yesterday night that Boko Haram suicide bombers stormed Zabarmari an outskirts area of Jere, the twin capital township of Maiduguri.
But it was reported last Saturday that Boko Haram had carried out a similar bomb attack, the very day Nigerians were supposed to conduct the first poll on the first round of the 2019 elections before it was postponed to today.
According to the information gathered by premium times from sources in Gaidam town of Yobe State that Boko Haram gunmen invaded the border community at about 3 am Saturday. Gaidam which is about one hundred and eighty (180) km away from Damaturu, the Yobe state capital.
According to Potiskum resident, Fati Umar who reported that they came in at about 3 am and started shooting which lasted for hours. They do not know what is happening now, are lying down inside their houses.
