As reported by Daily Post, Monday, an Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy, was suspended after his appearance before a disciplinary committee on allegations of sexual misconduct.
This came to public notice in a statement signed by Aihevba Edward, the university’s spokesman, on Wednesday in Benin, Edo State capital.
The statement, therefore, noted that Monday had been arraigned before the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee (SSDC) on allegations of gross misconduct bordering on sexual harassment and threatening students to have sex with him in exchange for a good grade.
According to the statement, Monday was found guilty by the University’s investigative panel. Thus the ASUU chairman was suspended over allegations of sexual assault.
Moreover, a relative of one of the victims had threatened to drag the Institution to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission ICPC if Monday was not prosecuted.
