FG Collaboration with Service Providers To Rig 2019 Election: Nyesom Wike, Rivers State Governor, has alleged that the Federal Government through the Office of the National Security Adviser NSA has directed the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC to collaborate with service providers to shut down internet access during the forthcoming elections.
As stated by Governor Wike, shutting down internet access by the NSA and INEC is aimed at facilitating the rigging of the 2019 General elections. The governor who made this known in a chat with the Savannah Centre Council on Peaceful and Violence Free (SCCPVF) in Nigeria at the Government House Port Harcourt.
“The National Security Adviser NSA has planned with INEC to make sure that internet service providers shut down the internet so that foreign bodies will not see what is happening in the country during the elections. The plan is to jam all the frequencies and internet services to stop real-time communication during the elections. FG collaboration with service providers to rig this 2019 election will never work. Moreover, this plan to manipulate the forthcoming elections is a recipe for violence. Surely, they will not succeed in whatever plot they are planning. The world will surely be informed about their criminal activities
He added that the negative actions of the Buhari administration indicate that they will not conceive defeat when they lose the forthcoming elections. He, therefore, advised President Muhammadu Buhari to emulate Former President Goodluck Jonathan who placed Nigeria above personal consideration.
“I do not think this administration will willingly accept defeat. They should emulate Former President Goodluck Jonathan who lost elections and accepted the result. There was no legal action. He quietly went back home and did not generate crisis, who is being celebrated worldwide for his selfless act and exemplary behaviour,” he stated.
