A Nigerian man, 25-year-old has taken his own life in Italy after he was denied of a residency in Italy .
Unfortunately, the Biochemistry young graduate arrived in Italy, by sea, in 2016, after a long and risky trip through the desert to Libya.
The head of association Migrants, Monsignor Giacomo Martino, said on Thursday that Jerry had applied for the permit on humanitarian grounds.
Monsignor, who happened to be in charge of the association that helps migrants in the port-city, made this known in a chat group with his parishioners.
The message was shared on the social media space Wednesday night and published by local newspapers on Thursday.
However, Jerry’s funeral will be held Friday morning, at the Chiesa dell’Annunziata in Genoa.
Most of Jerry’s friends have taken to Facebook to mourn him and give him the last respect.
Though some folks blamed him for committing suicide because he was denied of Residency in Italy.
May his gentle soul rest in peace!
