President Muhammadu Buhari today, Thursday lauded the two chambers of the National Assembly for the swift attention given to the minimum wage bill.
The commendation was given in a chat with newsmen at the Assembly complex on Today. Senator Ita Enang and Mr Umar El-Yakub and President’s Senior Special Assistants on National Assembly Matters made this known during an interactive section.
Mr El-Yakub, Current SSA (House of Representatives) to the President also expressed his delight over the manner both chambers considered the bill promptly.
”The President applauds the members and leaders of the National Assembly for the swift reading of the minimum wage bill. It indicates that the lawmakers are ready to work with the President and it is also a show of concern for the wellbeing of Nigerians,”he stated.
The new SSA, El-Yakub, therefore, promised to work with the leadership of both chambers and ensure a good relationship between the legislature and the executive.
Furthermore, Enang reiterated that the action of the lawmakers was a demonstration of faith in the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.
