A young man, Identified as Kamaludden Bashir, has started trekking to Abuja from Zaria to prove his support over the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP. Mr Bashir who arrived Kaduna on Tuesday, a day after he started trekking from Zaria, told newsmen that he plans to be in Abuja within five (5) days.
According to Bashir, “I am really excited about the victory, that is, why I started trekking to Abuja to show that I support him 100%. “On my way, I will sensitize thousands of youth to join me in the trekking campaign to make Nigeria great under Atiku as president.“I also believe that only him can solve the problems of poverty, unemployment, insecurity, communal and ethnic-religious crisis threatening the peace and stability of the country.
He left Kwarbai area of Zaria at about 6:30 am on Monday after he prayed with the parents. Mr Bashir believed that Mr Atiku Abubakar’s structures all over the country were good enough to push for his election in February.
“I am trekking in solidarity and praying for him to win the 2019 presidential election because I believe in Atiku.“I believe he is the right man that can deal with corruption and move the Nigerian youths to the next level.”
According to him, he was robbed of his belongings including food, money and water along the way but said the experience would not stop him from continuing with the journey.
Mr Bashir, therefore, urged Nigerian youths to support the former vice president come 2019 general elections so as to put Nigeria in a better direction.
